Last Chaos F.A.Q

Have something you like to add to the F.A.Q please let me know

  • How do quest items work? (thanks to Stalinfalcon)

There are, in fact, two styles of quest, and the item drop rates are wildly different betwixt the two. Also, the inventory management is different 'tween them as well. Repeatable quests, which tend to offer low exp and low gold compensation, drop the items particularly quickly and deposit them into your 'quest item inventory'. Repeat-quest drops are directly added to your quest-item inventory without showing as a drop on the ground. Non-repeatable quests, which generally offer sums of exp that can give you a full 3 to 4% worth of exp-bar at the earliest doable level, are asking you to farm the actual physical drop. This drop is like any other drop, appears on the ground, and is picked up into your normal inventory. These drops are the bloody tedious ones to farm.

You cannot interchange the two inventories. There is no way to move quest-item inventory into your regular inventory. You cannot deposit into storage from your 'quest inventory' nor can you withdraw from storage into your 'quest inventory'. (Quest inventory is the 2nd tab by the bye: 1st tab = normal inv, 2nd tab = repeatable-quest item inv, and 3rd tab = event inv where you will find your beta test treasure box on a fresh character.)

So, now you understand why you can't buy quest items from Player Markets and apply them to any and all quests. Player Markets are selling 'normal inventory' quest items, which only apply to non-repeatable quests. Now you may also understand why they fetch a pretty penny. Just because Hunter Dranore wants a load of treant fruits doesn't mean that the Archbishop is happy with that particular vintage ^^ The Archbishop wants the regular-inventory drop, not the quest-item inventory ones.

Don't even start me on about Horned Beast Eyeballs >.>;

Happy hunting and heed this advice: don't do as I did and sell off those regular drops unless you have already done the quest or have no intention of doing them at all, for re-farming what you sold is a nightmare and then some.

  • What are Tool Aids? (Thanks to Flipside)

Using tool aid on a tool and mining will get you 75 / 43 / 27 materials depending on the quality of what you are getting

yellow herb - low quality stone - element e = 75 per tool aid.

herb trunk - normal quality stone - element d = 43 per tool aid.

green herb - high quality stone - element c = 27 per tool aid.

  • What do Crystal of Effort, Tear of Repentance, Tear of Forgiveness do?

Crystal of Effort - reduce sp when you died (not worth it for the material needed) Lasts 8 real hours; same as crystal of experience.

Tear of Repentance - get rid of 1 bad value if you are red. Useful, if you pk someone you get -10 and turns into red, however if you use the tear the value is reduced to -9 and you are white. (Thanks to Izima of Eden for the info)

Tear of Forgiveness - It helps you get out of debt. lol It picks you out of negative exp of 5%. Let say you just level so at 0%. You decided to go pk, and became red name. You got killed through red name, and now you have negative exp of 3%. Using the tear will get rid of that negative exp up to 5%. (Thanks to KinG for the info)

  • What are Heaven Stones?

Heaven stones are used to upgrade a weapon or armor. These are only able to be found in the field. Unlike smelting stones, attempting to go past a +3 upgrade on equipment it may not break your equipment. In other words, its a safer way of upgrading where you know that your weapon/armor might not break if it fails. Smeltings stones will always break your equipment if it fails. Heaven stones also have a higher chance of success and in addition, if it fails it also may decrease your upgrade point by 1.

  • How many character may I have on my account?
